26 -27.05.2025 - TRAINING SESSION ON TOPIC: “FRIENDLY TECHNIQUES OF THE INTERVIEW OF CHILDREN IN FAMILY/CIVIL AND CRIMINAL CASES AS WELL AS THE APPLICATION OF THE PRINCIPLE OF PARTICIPATION OF CHILDREN.”

This two days activity was conducted by: 

Experts:  Mariana Semini, Arta Mandro  and  Amarildo Laçi. 

In the context of the cooperation of the School of Magistrates with Terre des Hommes, was done the activity on topic: “Friendly techniques of the interview of children in family/civil and criminal cases as well as the application of the principle of participation of children.”

This training dedicated to the candidates of the second year was done on 26 and 27 May, 2025. 

The purpose of this training is: The training of candidates for magistrate and friendly techniques of the interview of children, as well as with international standards and the Albanian legislation regarding the principle of the participation of children. 

In this training activity were elaborated different topics, such as:

  • International standards related to principles of friendly justice for children.
  • Albanian legislation (Procedural Code, Code of Criminal Code for Minors, Family, Code, law no.18/2017 etj.), as well as rules on interrogation, participation and interview of minors.   
  • Interview focused on the protection of the best interest of the child. 
  • Meaning, combination and differences: interview, participation, interrogation, giving of opinion, giving of consent, giving of testimony, listening and respecting the opinion of the child, according to the age and his/her capacity to understand, etc.
  • Environment, behavior, attitude, language, questions, holidays etc. – during the interview. 
  • Interview depending on the procedural position of the child in the criminal process according to the Criminal Code for Minors. 
  • The child in conflict to the law. 
  • The child as victim and witness. 
  • Features of interview according to age groups. 
  • The interview of the child on issues related to family, permission of marriage under age, dissolution and marriage and its consequences, etc. 

In this activity were used combined methods of explanation, discussion, analysis, including theoretical and practical analysis accompanied with examples of practice, exercises, where participants were active all the time, participating in discussions with each – other and with experts.
